Nine Dragons Restaurant, open for lunch and dinner in the China Pavilion at Epcot theme park, serves authentic traditional and modern cuisine from across China. Dine in a contemporary Asian setting rich with cultural and culinary treasures.
Meals at Nine Dragons begin with a variety of hot and cold appetizers, all of which are perfect for sharing, including several Dim Sum favorites such as Shrimp and Chicken Egg Rolls served with plum-chili and ginger-soy sauces, General Tso's Chicken Dumplings, an innovative twist on the classic dish and Appetizer Trio, a sampler of cucumber salad, spicy beef and fragrant chicken.
Diners are greeted at the entrance by a stunning glass mural of two dragons chasing a glowing pearl. Extensively updated in 2008 to reflect a mixture of modernism and tradition, the bright and colorful dining room showcases delicately crafted glass artwork and warm rosewood wall panels, all accented by the romantic glow of Chinese lanterns. The expansive dining room is lavishly decorated in ornate Oriental fashion. Lacquered woods, rich reds and beautiful fabrics create an elegant and serene atmosphere.
Touring Tips
- Chinese food is best served family-style. Order a variety of entrees so everyone can sample all the wonderful flavors.
- Request a seat near one of the oversized windows that provides a sweeping view of World Showcase Lagoon and watch the pedestrians walking the promenade outside.
- Nine Dragons is a fabulous restaurant now, but it wasn't always this way. For quite some time, the food was considered by many guests to be mediocre at best, and this place became one to avoid. In the past few years, Nine Dragons has tightened up its act so that now it seems to be getting consistently good reviews. The best thing about its longstanding reputation is that many Guests still avoid it, making it easier to get a table as a walk-up Guest than at most of the other Epcot restaurants.
