Storm Slides

Disney's Typhoon Lagoon

  • Type: Thrill Ride
Height: Any Height
Experience: Mild but Wild Rides

Storm Slides are 3 (Jib Jammer, Stern Burner and Rudder Buster) wet and wild body slides for big kids, teens and adults at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. Plunge down these winding waterways for a wild ride and a watery splash down! Each of the high-octane body slides zips you down 3 stories through caves, waterfalls and geysers then drops you into an invigorating pool at the bottom.

Guests can find the storm slides located between Humunga Kowabunga and the Shark Reef on the right side of the park. After walking up the stairs guests will then take off their shoes and hold onto their sunglasses as they pick one of the following slides: Rudder Buster, Jib Jammer, Stern Burner. The two slides on the left, Rudder Buster and Stern Burner, both have tunnels that you will go through, but the slide on the right, Jib Jammer, does not.

Touring Tips

  • Storm Slides are located near the Humunga Kowabunga attraction. Climb the right slope of Mount Mayday to get to these attractions.
  • Storm Slides are fun and exhilarating. Riders will not use a mat or tube, instead will lay on their backs. You may sit up or lie down, but you must go feet first down these slides.
  • If guests have little ones who are wanting to ride, it is a good idea to have a parent or an older sibling slide down first to catch the child at the end, because they do have to ride down by themselves.
  • It is recommended doing this attraction after your first few main attractions. This can get busy if the other attractions have too long of a wait time.
  • Any time of year that the park is open is a good time to visit, but it does get very hot and very crowded during the summer peak season. There are two better times to arrive, shortly before the park opens, and in the warmer months when the park is open at night, its best to get there mid to late afternoon. If you want to go for the morning/early afternoon, it is essential to arrive by park opening time, particularly in the warmer months.
  • Weekdays, the nearer to the beginning of the week the better. Later in the week, Typhoon Lagoon attracts the people who typically spend the beginning of the week at the major parks. Local residents tend to keep things busy on the weekends.

Facts

  • The slides are three stories high.
  • All of the slides are about the same speed they just go in different directions.
