Snow Stormers

Disney's Blizzard Beach

  • Type: Thrill Ride
Height: Any Height
Experience: Mild but Wild Rides

Snow Stormers are 3 racing waterslides designed for big kids, teens and adults at Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park. Ready. Set. Sled! Grab a toboggan-style mat, lie down on your stomach and speed down the mountain, banking through the curvy paths marked by ski-type gates on switchback, slalom-style racing slides. These 350-foot long waterslides descend the slopes of Mount Gushmore and plunge riders into a refreshing pool at the bottom. Compete with your friends and be the first one down the mountain.

Snow Stormers is a "mat slide" consisting of three flumes that are 350 feet long. This attraction sits between Downhill Double Dipper and Toboggan Racers on Mount Gushmore. The attraction descends from the top of the mountain and follows a switchback course through ski-type slalom gates. Guests lay on their stomach on the toboggan style mat as they ride down the flumes. Mat pickup at the top of attraction (Shares Mat Conveyor with Toboggan Racers).

Touring Tips

  • Snow Stormers is located between Downhill Double Dipper and Toboggan Racers on the slopes of Mount Gushmore. To get to these attractions, follow the signs to the attractions at the Purple Slope area of the mountain.
  • This attraction can and will get very busy on the hot summer days. We recommend riding this as soon as possible if you didn't want to wait in line.
  • Any time of year that the park is open is a good time to visit, but it does get very hot and very crowded during the summer peak season. There are two better times to arrive, shortly before the park opens, and in the warmer months when the park is open at night, its best to get there mid to late afternoon. If you want to go for the morning/early afternoon, it is essential to arrive by park opening time, particularly in the warmer months.
  • Weekdays, the nearer to the beginning of the week the better. Later in the week, Blizzard Beach attracts the people who typically spend the beginning of the week at the major parks. Local residents tend to keep things busy on the weekends.

Facts

  • Highly trained and qualified lifeguards are on duty over the course of the day patrolling the Water Park. All Disney lifeguards must complete a thorough training program that exceeds most national standards.
