Runoff Rapids

Disney's Blizzard Beach

  • Type: Mild Thrill Ride
Height: Any Height
Experience: Mild but Wild Rides

Runoff Rapids are 3 different inner tube waterslides for big kids, teens and adults at Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park. Grab an inner tube and careen down Mount Gushmore on any of the three unique waterslides. Each flume is different, so try them all!

The center slide is fully enclosed and accommodates one rider at a time. The two outer slides can accommodate rafts that hold up to 2 people. All 3 waterslides at Runoff Rapids twist and turn down the hill, taking you on an invigorating ride with a plunge into the pool at the bottom.

Touring Tips

  • Runoff Rapids are very popular water slides. As with just about every attraction at the water parks, this can get very busy. Visit early if you want to try all three, or you may be waiting a long, long time.
  • To get to Runoff Rapids follow the signs for this attraction at the Red Slope area of the mountain. The Red slope stairs are the only way to access this attraction. Be sure to follow signs for the red slope to get to this attraction and make sure to get an inner tube at the base of the stairs.
  • Any time of year that the park is open is a good time to visit, but it does get very hot and very crowded during the summer peak season. There are two better times to arrive, shortly before the park opens, and in the warmer months when the park is open at night, its best to get there mid to late afternoon. If you want to go for the morning/early afternoon, it is essential to arrive by park opening time, particularly in the warmer months.
  • Weekdays, the nearer to the beginning of the week the better. Later in the week, Blizzard Beach attracts the people who typically spend the beginning of the week at the major parks. Local residents tend to keep things busy on the weekends.

Facts

  • Runoff Rapids is a 600-foot inner tube run featuring two open and one enclosed tube slides.
