Touring Tips

  • Chip 'n' Dale's Treehouse is located at the far left side of Mickey's Toontown. Enter the treehouse by going up a few steps. Once inside, climb a small narrow staircase to get to the top. Along the climb, you can look out a window. From the top of the Redwood, make your way back down to street level via an exterior staircase.
  • It is uncommon for there to be a line to get into the treehouse, though things may be crowded enough inside that it is necessary to wait for individual elements of the attraction.
  • Though there is no maximum height limit, this attraction is squarely targetted at young children. A rope and ladder course similar to the much larger Redwood Creek Challenge Trail at Disney's California Adventure, lines are generally minimal and it can be a good way to burn off some excess energy in your children.
  • Guests must be physically able to walk and navigate a narrow winding staircase.
  • Those with a fear of heights or small enclosed areas may not want to explore the treehouse.
  • There's no time limit to your visit. After 5 minutes, most kids are ready to move on.
  • Restrooms are located in the center of Mickey's Toontown, beside Goofy's Gas Station.
  • Chip and Dale do not meet guests at their treehouse. You can find Pluto, Donald Duck, Goofy, Minnie Mouse, and Chip and Dale making appearances around Mickey's Toontown. They are most often found near The Gag Factory, and in between the Jolly Trolley and Goofy's Playhouse.

Facts

  • Ever wonder how to tell these 2 chipmunk brothers apart? Chip has a small black nose with 2 teeth in the center of his mouth. Dale has a big red nose and 2 buck teeth with a gap in the middle.
  • Chip and Dale made their debut in 1943 in the cartoon Private Pluto.
  • The cartoon series Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers began its three season run in 1989. The show now airs repeats on Toon Disney.

History

Mickey's Toontown opened in Disneyland on January 24, 1993. The area is themed to the Toontown seen in the film Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and resembles a set from a Max Fleischer cartoon. The buildings are stylized and colorful. There are several attractions involving classic cartoon characters, such as the houses of Mickey and Minnie Mouse, and a small children's coaster. There are a few interactive gags. Compared to other Disneyland areas however, there are few large or technically complex rides or shows, and the houses themselves appeal primarily as playhouses for small children.
